Leave aside the asset I am in debt of over 200K , If I leave the country looses may be 1-2K

I just did the math.
I am sure most of you have assets worth of at least $150,000. So if 300,000 are stuck in the backlog. This would mean if these guys leave this country, then that would be $45 trillion loss for USA.
Guys is there a way to get some media publicity of the possible loss of $45 trillion for USA due to US Immigration mess??

I know this has been discussed in the past on this and other message boards but I wanted to hear some more opinions about it. What is the value of green card to you?
I know different ppl have different reasons like ability to switch jobs, ability to travel freely, ability to have a job for spouse etc. All said and done how many of you would like to go back to your home countries in the next 5-6 years? I know a lot of people have issues such as aging parents back home or they simply don't see themselves living in a foreign land forever. I guess my question is what percentage of ppl aspiring for a GC view it as a convenience vs percentage of ppl who actually see it as a path to settling down in US for good.

Just out of curiousity, did you or your mortgage broker fill out Form 1003 - Uniform Residential Loan Application (or a similar form)?

I got the same message on 4th jan and received the AP documents from my employer today..probably it may take 10 days to receive from USCIS through Attorney/Employer..don't worry..you will receive on time...

Being a non-profit does not mean everything is free. Even some of our profession's organizations are non-profits and they want subscription to even login to their site. We are being very generous and providing everything for free and we will continue to do so to provide free access to immigrants on our site. Only a small donor area is for donors so that such members can have easy access to information and admins.

I can understand the excitement. I am also in EB2 2005 PD. But the fact is that, this seems like a temporary movement only...i don't think dates can stay at 2006, going by simple math.
PPl can give me those red marks, but i think dates will retrogress again by Oct.

we are not talking anything new nixstor, there are people already waiting for years to get name check done......dont think if you pretend like nothing is happened will get a GC within a year....even though we might still stuck for years in the name of name check
May be you are right. I am pretending like nothing has happened. But Those folks who are adding spin to the issue on security checks, are you focusing in any way on the root cause of the problem. My point is, If you bring security on, every thing else is shelved until security is fixed. If its already there, let it be there. Let AILA figure out in the law suit how they approved. Let Rep Lofgren do it. Why should we stir up the hornet's nest on digg and open doors to anti guys to tighten security checks on us. Its like we are going out there and saying that "yes, My buddy got GC in 6 months. The security system is not working. Please fix it " What will be the result?

This topic was already discussed. Whoever opposing PD porting is confused between law and abuse. As per law, PD porting is 100% valid and legal, one can do nothing to challange the law. A janitor can become a rocket scientist and port PD from EB3 to EB1. One cannot stop it. PD is the date one has officially shown the intend to immigrate and put up in the line. He/She will take the priority/ senioirty if he/she changes the catagory.
However, people (particularly in consulting/desi/ IT/bodyshopping industries) may be abusing it by creating duplicate job just to port from EB3 to EB2. If any one has evidence/details about it, inform the USCIS/DOL to cutail those employers. You can also explain them that if a same employer files 2 140(or LC) for a same person for a same/similar occupation classification, it should be stopped. Perhaps CIS and DOL listen to you guys. All other efforts will be waste. Even if they act on your request (one employer for one 140), people will find another bodyshoppers to file Eb2 petition.

Being stuck in a green card process keeps us bonded with 1 employer, job type etc.
We need to know if there is any light at the end of the tunnel. We need to know for how long we have to live our life in limbo. If there is hope than we need to be patient and plan to live like that for another 1-2 years. But if there�s no light at the end of the tunnel than we need to move on with our careers and other family commitments. Only your office and USCIS can help us by releasing statistics on the number and categories of applications pending with USCIS people waiting in this category can plan their lives accordingly.
It will be a great help if DOS or USCIS could tell us about the number of AOS application pending at USCIS along with their Categories(EB-3, EB-2, EB-1) and chargeable country.
We have been waiting for a decade and continue to wait would it be reasonable to request you for some guidance with regards to the Visa allotment. I request your office to provide some statistics on home many Adjustment of Status applications are pending at USCIS.
We understand that you work with in the limits of the law as set by the Congress and are limited by various constraints that are beyond your agency realm of work. We appreciate your hard work and sincerely thank you for all the hard work.

Many H1s like me have their non-working spouses on H4 visa who are not given SSNs. Do we not pay taxes ? Do we not pay Social security ? We do, and therefore we should also be eligible for the Stimulus package. Indeed my son is autistic and disabled but we are not eligible for any kind of aid but we pay tons of taxes and social security. It is highly non-justified think. I know people will argue a lot if it is compared to slavery. But it is a "modern form of slavery". Yes, we are in this country with our own will but that is what they are making use of.

I have recently tried to explain them the EAD/485-pending concept and failed.
At the end, they waived their commission of 1%, so that I don't have to pay that amount.

It is thus critically important that the Judiciary Committee passes the bill in one form or another by March 27, 2006. Please stay tuned to this website for the breath-taking development. "
The tragedy is liberals who want automatic path to citizenship for the illegal aliens may derail the whole process to embarass the moderates who want quest worker program if they feel their point of view has no takers.
