For me its about the higher prize...thats citizenship...
I want to be here for good unless asked to leave. But at times it frustrates me to think that I will be well over age of 40 when I get my green card (Assuming that nothing will happen to alleviate the retrogression issue)...
And I keep asking myself whether its worth the wait (Waiting for 10 or 15 years and working for same employer and same position) ... I think its a valid question.

You have some more in other science related disciplines like TIFR (not sure if they give M.S. degree).
I did not see MS in any discipline.
They had PhD CS also; my friend got PhD from there.
They also had something like a CS diploma (don't remember details). They had 10 (??) theoretically sound courses. Students in most US schools will not be able to handle these courses.
However, course content is not the only strength of US Education (all levels). Something else (which is hard to enumerate and quantify) happens outside the classes. But it does not happen to everyone: some are not receptive and others don't run into it!

USCIS currently has no accountability at all. Nor do they seem to have any clue about how many cases they have in the queue. Just see EB2-I dates for all the 12 VBs for the 2008 fiscal year: It started at 1 APR 2004 then retrogressed back steadily till it eventually became "U" just to jump back to 1 Aug 2006 for the last 3 months! Now after one whole year of processing and approving some 20-30K green cards for EB2-I it is starting at 1 APR 2003, a full year back from where it began last year!! Meanwhile they have handed out thousands of green cards to PDs in 2006 when the rule clearly states they have to clear older PDs first! Care to explain, USCIS?
I know people are sending out mails and DHS-7001 forms on their own but these individual scatter-shot attempts will all vanish in a big black abyss of USCIS bureaucracy and fall on deaf years. Only chance to instill some sense in this adhoc process seems to be if IV as a whole organization takes up this matter with Ombudsman and influential congressmen/senators like Zoe lofgren. IV had been very influential in redressing excesses by USCIS in the past - turing back July 2007 fiasco was no mean feat! Can we have some IV action item from core for this?
I'm afraid unless we do something about it as a group there is absolutely nothing to prevent USCIS from doing the same outrageous thing year after year with little fear of any retribution. We will all be practically at complete USCIS mercy!
Finally, I'm nothing but happy for those who got their GCs in this last round of "Lotto drawing" - including those with PD much later than mine - but the prospect of being stuck in a black hole called USCIS year after year scares the hell out of me!

I believe so. I assume that USCIS eventually sends a letter acknowledging the revocation, but I don't know for sure.
Even my attorney says the same thing that they do not represent any revocations and says that there will be an acknowledgment from USCIS regarding revocation.
I have requested my old employer to provide me the I-140 revocation acknowledgment, but he denies saying he did not receive it and USCIS does not always send acknowledgments. That is his ball game, I could not poke around much.

I just sent a check of $100 via online bill payment to IV. I've also set up recurring contribution checks of $25 every month beginning June. Relax Buddy , now that the bus has come they will keep coming .Most of the people will go in this bus. The dates will retrogress for some time and will be current maybe next year . If not this bus then the next bus . No use raising your blood pressure for this . Attorneys and the media have a habit of scaring people unnecessarily . This Current date is not the end of the world , so take a chill pill ..

nice to see good activity on the forum. Please hold on from holding any rally until you hear from IV core. We have some good synergy amongst or members in So Cal, lets plan a meeting in the coming weeks and decide on an action plan. The date of the I-140 approval matters just in case the visa dates are retrogressed again before your case is adjudicated, in which case it will be better the longer the delay on your 140 approval. See examlpe 5 in raju123's posting above.

It seems that under the new law his cutoff date is Jun 1 since that is when my priority date will be current so as long as he applies for a green card within one year he is ok.
So if we apply concurrently when is his green card application deemed to have been applied for? When we file concurrently or only when and if the 140is approved.
What do you think?
