I drove back from canada today. and I though I should post my experiance at the buffalo border crossing.

Drove up to the IO gave him my AP and passport. he gave me a token number and asked me to go into the office. Very polite. parked my car went into the office.

waited for about 40 minutes then they finally called me. the lady was very polite soft spoken she had already gotten all my papers ready like new I-94 card. stamp on AP and passport. She asked for my old I-94 cards I handed here all my old ones (i had about 6, since i first came on student visa then switched employers) i mentioned to her that I lost one of my I-94 would a photo copy work and she said yes thats not a problem. after she took all my I-94 cards stamped my passport with ap exiration date same on i-94. I mentioned to her that I will going back and forth to canada very frequently and she jokingly said then I will be seeing you alot.

No other questions were asked. the whole process went very smoothly.

O a friend of mine told me if asked purpose of visit outside US don't say vacation on AP that pisses the IO's because AP is only for emergencies originally.

We are talking about HR 5882,5921 and 6039. Very few people are working very hard to take all of us a step ahead with the GC process and we have lots of hope and we also have direction. Please check with your state chapter lead for latest updates.

Which bills are you talking about? I read most were dropped from Iraq funding bill that passed recently.

We are just drifting my friend..no direction..no hope....

It looks like they have heard from IV members about the spillover rules and their clarification about the QUARTERLY spillover is useful. Also them categorically stating that any spillover visas would be used in strict order of PD is reassuring. Whether they actually practice or not, it is good that they have gone on record as saying that is the way it should be.
In the past spillover was not applied in the way they are saying and EB2I suffered greatly for it.
This spillover rules if enforced will accelerate EE2I movement initially and then EB3. I suspect that by this summer EB2I folks from 2007 should be seeing some action.

Thank you karan007, pvhemanth, zappy, dvrao4, lp2007 and permfiling for the contributions. I am so happy that we were able to conclude this round with the help of only the junior members. Some of you have not posted much. Obviously, you found lot of things on this site that piqued your interest. I appreciate the fact that you did not hesitate to pull the trigger. Because of you, we can close this round and move to the final round.

I hope the final round starts with a person who visits this site regularly, find helpful suggestions and tips, and is generally happy with things moving in the right direction and knows IV is an important part of this process. Even though he supports the rally, he cannot come because he probably lives on the west coast, but would have definitely attended the rally if he or she were working in NJ, MD, PA, VA or any other neighboring states. He doesnt have many questions to ask, but once in a while she does have a quick question, but rejects that idea because of the process involved. She knows that a user id is required to post any questions.

I am taking about the guest users who were visiting this site at 3:30 AM EST last night. Unless you are in Hawaii, it was rather late for you, even on the West Coast. Obviously we have things in common, thats why we are communicating (At least one way; I writing and you reading). We also would like to read whats on your mind. So please consider becoming member and start this round by firing the first shot.

Added info about April VB to past VBs table.
    http://immigrationvoice.org/wiki/index.php/Past_Visa_Bulletin_Data

The way dates are moved doesn't seem to have any fact based intelligent logic.

Thanks.. I was about to create a table myself based on the archived bulletins..
However, there isnt much to infer - as you say there doesnt seem to be any logic in the movement of dates. The lack of transparency is quite frustrating.

    Hey,
Looks like my employer will fill up the 7001 form but how about the main letter. Does that needs to be signed and addressed by employer as well ?

Because the Link for 7001 doesn't talk about sending a separate cover letter.

    http://www.dhs.gov/ximgtn/programs/editorial_0497.shtm

    Thanks,
    Diptam

Wondering how many members who answered in the poll that they are victims of slow processing actually got to participate and join in this campaign. People who mailed out letters & DHS Form 7001, please post so that we can motivate others to join this campaign.

I'm wondering how many are still awaiting advanced parole? I am travelling in a months time, and do intend to go for H1 stamping but at the same time expecting my AP to come through before I leave. Whats up with this delay? Anyone else in the same situation? Please respond.

Filed AP on Aug 13th, havent got it yet.

Amit, i have sent you a PM. :)

Thanks a bunch for all of you who contributed today, I read each and every post and felt very content that atleast there are people who feel the same way like I feel. IV is the only org that stands for us. It is time to strengthen it, Most of you have no idea how much money is really needed for lobbying, and how far it can take us if each of us contributed a little every month.
    Minimum $50/month.

I would say we all need to know our status well first :) There is no such status as EAD. It is Adjustment of Status (AOS) Pending. I had done multiple refi and all I had to tell them is GC pending. They get copy of EAD just to have a reference that I am legal here at the time of application (since it has an end date). Had no issues so for.

vrbest, Who is your lender. Can you name the bank you worked with. It might help the some in this group. I have done a Mortgage and 2 re-fi in the past with no issues, but last time, I had issues with Bank of America, Wells Fargo and one other bank (don't remember name). The reason was being on AOS/EAD, They were fine with H1b, but did not understand what EAD / AOS is. It all depends on the underwriter and if he is not knowledgeable on the Visa issues, then you are done. You can't ask for an alternate underwriter. I was able to secure through a credit union though.

I, for one, am happy with this Oct visa bulletin. This is how it should be. First give GCs to all those with < 2003 PD. You guys with 2006 and 2007 pd should be glad you even got to file I-485 and EAD. What are you bitching about?.

    1. Did you pay for points?
    2. When did you lock?
    3. Who is your lender?

I didn't pay any points. I locked in two weeks back and closed this week. Lender is a local bank in Mass.

I will be leaving for DC in a couple of hours. Need to pack, get gas tank full, and decide what clothes to iron and ton of other mundane things. Thanks a lot to all those people who participated in this 401K round. If you found these shots, guns and jokes etc. amusing, thank you for your support. If you think it was silly, I appreciate you, for keeping those thoughts private.

So here is my final shot for all the people who contributed for the first time, those who contributed again, to all those who were motivated, to all those who were amused and most of all to the people who are going to DC.

    $100 Order Details - Sep 17, 2007 2:20 PM EDT Google Order #348908840140049

I usually dont share my private life. But just to let you know, I postponed my foot surgery on Friday so I can attend this rally. (First and last time on this thread to send some people on a teeny-weeny guilt trip). People under going heart surgery and people who tend to look at the roof (Ref. My previous post) are excused from this guilt trip.

Still a few shots left to be fired to finish this final round. You all know the reasons for taking those shots.

    Adios. See you in DC.

P.S I will remove my signature after all the shots are fired.

If this news is true, then we can see "wild" approvals before the end of September. Some people with complete cases may overtake others.

Mine was probably such a wild case. With a PD of DEC2004 Eb3 ROW, I-140 approved in 2006, filed I-485 in June (ND: June 27), FP: August 1st, "Notice sent welcoming permanent resident" on September 17th, received my card 4 days later, even before the notices. Less than 3 months total processing time, end to end.

I guess they just picked the low hanging fruit and fast-tracked like crazy to waste as little visa numbers as possible. But still not fast enough...

    Hi

BOA is now asking me for I-94. In my I-94 it is stamped as"Paroled until July 29th 2010" - will they interpret this as my valid stay in the US being only till July 29th? Not sure how I can explain this to them

Can someone suggest a good attorney (based on your personal experience) for sending AC21 letters to the USCIS? If possible please post the cost involved as well. Preferably in CT/NY/NJ area, any other area is fine too. Thanks!
